This application features 1200 words which are given definitions and example sentences. The application is based on a challenging quiz model where the student can unlock new words as they advance through beginner, intermediate, and expert levels. As you progress throughout the app, you will be able to track your progress and review words that posed as a challenge in the past. This design is sleek and simple, and focuses on self-challenging academics rather than games and is thus geared toward older students who are preparing for college. This exact no-frills design can also pose as a disadvantage to those who seek a more fun and game-like learning platform or those who have a difficult time with self-motivation. Similarly, the application will give a definition and provide multiple words to choose from as the answer, and in this the correct choice can at times be easily discernable. This software will be great for students to challenge and quiz one another in an interactive setting, and for parents to be involved with their student’s language acquisition in quizzing and reviewing with them at home. While I as a teacher can quiz them formally, the challenge and competition that comes from peers is much more motivating for student’s success! With this app in class, we can excel together academically and excitingly!
